Bricken

Terms of Service

Last updated 3 October 2026

In short: Bricken is a tool for running a building business. You pay monthly or yearly after a 7-day free trial, and you can cancel any time. Your records belong to you, and you can download them whenever you like. The tax and cash-flow figures are there to help you plan; they are not accounting or tax advice, so check anything you file with your accountant.

1. Who we are

Bricken is a trading name of Tom Kurpanik, a sole trader, of 126 Colmore Row, Birmingham B3 3AP, United Kingdom. Contact: hello@bricken.net. In these terms, “we” and “us” means Tom Kurpanik trading as Bricken, and “you” means the business that signs up.

2. Using Bricken

3. Free trial, prices and payment

4. Cancelling

5. If a payment fails

If a payment fails, we will let you know in the app, and you have 7 days to update your card. After that, or after your subscription ends, your account becomes read-only: you can still see and download everything, but you can’t add or change records until the subscription is running again. We don’t delete your records because a payment failed.

6. Your data

7. Receipt reading

Bricken can read the figures from a photo of a receipt automatically. Each company has a monthly allowance of automatic readings, shown in Settings. Past the allowance, you can still attach photos and type the figures in yourself. Automatic readings can be wrong, so check the amounts before you rely on them.

8. The figures are not advice

Bricken calculates profit, VAT, CIS, cash-flow projections and similar figures from what you enter. They are estimates to help you run your business. They are not accounting, tax, legal or financial advice. They depend on the information you enter being complete and correct, and on the settings you choose, such as your VAT scheme. You are responsible for your tax returns, CIS returns and other filings, and you should check them with a qualified accountant.

9. Fair use

Don’t use Bricken to break the law, to store anything you have no right to store, to try to get into other people’s accounts or data, to overload or disrupt the service, or to copy or resell it. We may suspend an account that does, after telling the owner why where we reasonably can.

10. Availability and backups

We work to keep Bricken running and your records safe, and we back up the database every night. We can’t promise the service will never be interrupted or free of errors, and we may change or improve features over time. If we ever decide to close Bricken, we will give the owner at least 60 days’ notice so you can download your records.

11. Our liability

12. Information you record about other people

For personal information you put into Bricken about other people (for example clients’ names and addresses, or workers’ names, rates and CIS details), you are the controller and we are your processor under UK data protection law. We will:

The full terms are in our Data Processing Agreement, which is part of these terms.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If a change matters to you, we will email the owner at least 30 days before it applies. If you keep using Bricken after that, the new terms apply.

14. Law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales will deal with any dispute.
